The Matrix is a modern geometric rug built from long rectangles and shorter blocks laid in staggered columns, rather like a brick bond turned on its end. Soft greys and cream make up most of the ground, with pale blue, sage green, blush pink and warm mustard picked out across it, hence the Multi colourway. Each block is outlined by a fine groove, so the pattern reads in texture as well as colour. It is machine made in polypropylene with a smooth pile that feels even and soft underfoot.

This is a rug for the living room, where its mix of cool greys and blues with warmer mustard and pink lifts a neutral scheme without shouting. We offer it in four sizes. The 80 by 150cm rug suits a reading corner or the space in front of a fireplace. The 120 by 170cm and 160 by 230cm sizes sit well in front of or partly under a sofa.
