Marinella Colour Changing Ceiling Fan with Light - Black

The Marinella is a ceiling fan and light in one fitting, built around a black steel ring that carries a glowing opal acrylic diffuser. Three curved arms join the ring to a slim black canopy, and clear blades turn inside the circle, so the fan sits neatly within the light. It measures 50cm across and 15.5cm deep, which keeps it close to the ceiling. The integrated LED gives 4,000 lumens, a strong output for a main ceiling light, and the IP20 rating settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms.

We think it is happiest in a bedroom or a living room, where warm nights call for moving air and you still want good light overhead. With the fan and light sharing one fitting, there is no standing fan taking floor space and only one thing on the ceiling. The colour-changing light casts a soft coloured glow across the ceiling for relaxed evenings, while the white light adjusts from a warm 3000K to a cool 6500K, so the same fitting suits winding down in bed and getting jobs done in a busy room.

The remote control comes in the box and runs everything from the bed or the sofa: three fan speeds, a reversible direction for changing which way the air moves, a timer, dimming, colour temperature and the colour settings. The remote takes a CR2032 battery. There is no switch on the fitting itself, so it is switched at the wall, and as a wired mains light it is installed by a qualified electrician. The LED and driver can be replaced by a specialist, which means the fitting can be repaired rather than thrown away if the light ever fails. It weighs 1.94KG. Keep the remote somewhere handy, because it is the only way into the fan settings.

Can the Marinella go in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means it belongs indoors in dry rooms such as bedrooms and living rooms, never in a bathroom or outdoors.

How bright is the light?

The integrated LED gives 4,000 lumens, and it is dimmable, so you can run it as a strong main light or turn it right down for evenings.

Can I change the colour of the light?

Yes. The white light adjusts from a warm 3000K to a cool 6500K, and the colour-changing setting adds a coloured glow, all chosen from the remote control.

Does it come with a remote control?

Yes, a remote control comes in the box. It sets the three fan speeds, the direction, the timer, dimming and the light colour, and takes a CR2032 battery.

How big is the fan?

It measures 50cm across and 15.5cm deep, so it sits close to the ceiling, and it weighs 1.94KG.

Which finish does it have?

The body is black steel with an opal acrylic diffuser around the ring, and the blades are clear, so the glowing ring stands out against the black frame.
