The Marghera 2 is a round LED flush ceiling light: a black steel drum with a white plastic diffuser across its underside. It measures 45cm in diameter and 13.5cm in height, so it sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging into the room. The LEDs are integrated, which means there is no bulb to buy or replace, and together they draw 25.5W to give 3,000 lumens at a colour temperature of 3000K, a warm white tone. Its IP rating is IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.

Sitting flush, the Marghera 2 suits rooms where a pendant would get in the way: a hallway, a landing, a kitchen or a bedroom with a lower ceiling. At 45cm across it has enough presence to serve as the main light in a living room or dining room, and the black drum looks crisp against a white ceiling and sits well beside dark door frames, black ironmongery and monochrome schemes. The light is dimmable, so you can have it bright while you cook or tidy and low and soft for a quiet evening. There is no switch on the fitting itself: it is controlled from the wall, and a compatible dimmer there sets the level.

The body is steel in a black finish and the diffuser is white plastic, which softens the integrated LEDs and keeps the light source out of sight.
