Description

The Marghera 1 is a round LED flush ceiling light in white, shaped as a shallow drum with a white diffuser set into its base. It measures 59.5cm across and 13.5cm high, so it sits close to the ceiling while still spreading light across a good-sized room. The body is steel and plastic, and the light comes from four integrated LEDs, each rated at 8.8W and giving 1,050 lumens. At 3000K the light is a warm white. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

Because it sits flush to the ceiling, this light works well where a pendant would hang too low, such as a living room, a bedroom, a dining room or a home office. The 59.5cm diameter gives it real presence in a larger space, and a plain white drum sits comfortably beside most wall colours and styles of furniture. The LEDs are hidden behind the inset diffuser, so what you see is a soft, even disc of light rather than bare bulbs, which suits rooms where you unwind in the evening. It is dimmable too, so you can lower the light whenever you want a quieter mood.

There are no bulbs to change: the LEDs are built in and not replaceable, which is worth knowing before you buy. The light has no switch of its own and is switched at the wall, running on 220-240V mains at 50/60Hz, and it carries an energy class of E. As a wired-in mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. Its packed weight is 5.136kg.
