Marcella 4 Light Chandelier - Bronze

The Marcella is an 819mm diameter chandelier built around a drum-shaped metal frame filled with filigree metalwork inspired by Prussian and Arabic decorative traditions. The frame is hand-finished in a bronze and gold patina that highlights the depth of the pierced scrollwork and quatrefoil panels. Four E27 bulbs sit inside the drum (bulbs sold separately), with light filtering through both the filigree and a fabric inner liner visible through the metalwork.

Designed for dining rooms with ceilings of 2.7m or higher, entrance halls, and double-height foyers, the Marcella requires substantial vertical space. The adjustable drop ranges from 1237mm to 2762mm on installation via a 1524mm chain, allowing the chandelier to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or at eye level in a two-storey entrance. The 819mm diameter suits tables of 1800-2400mm length or entrance halls of 3m square or larger.

The filigree panels are formed from laser-cut steel, hand-finished to create depth between the raised bronze frame and the recessed gold-toned scrollwork. The open metalwork casts patterned shadows onto surrounding walls when lit, particularly visible with exposed filament or clear glass bulbs. The fabric liner softens the outward light while the pierced metal diffuses the downward spread. The bronze and gold finish pairs with warm wood tones, traditional plasterwork and both rich jewel-toned and neutral classical interiors.

What bulbs does the Marcella take?

The chandelier uses four E27 (Edison screw) bulbs up to 60W each, sold separately. Warm-white LED bulbs between 6-10W and 2700K work well, or exposed filament bulbs to enhance the shadow patterns cast by the filigree metalwork.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 1237mm plus the 1137mm fitting height requires a ceiling of at least 2.7m to avoid the chandelier hanging too low. For dining tables, the chandelier typically sits 700-900mm above the table surface, which works in rooms with 2.7-3.2m ceilings. Higher ceilings benefit from extending the chain closer to the 2762mm maximum drop.

How is the drop adjusted?

The 1524mm chain is adjusted during installation by removing links to achieve the desired hanging height. Once installed, the drop is fixed until the fitting is taken down and re-hung.

Is the chandelier suitable for lower ceilings?

No. The 1237mm minimum drop makes this unsuitable for standard 2.4m UK ceiling heights. For rooms with ceilings below 2.7m, consider a semi-flush or shorter-drop chandelier from the Feiss range.
