Description
The Mara is a 78cm 5 light chandelier with scrolling antique brass arms extending from a central column, each arm supporting an ivory white pleated fabric shade and an E14 bulb fitting. The metal framework forms interlocking scrolls and loops that give the chandelier both horizontal spread and visual rhythm, while the antique brass finish adds depth through subtle tonal variation across the metalwork.
Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above, the 78cm diameter suits rooms 4-5m wide where a larger decorative fitting is needed. The drop is adjustable between 650mm minimum and 2500mm maximum on installation, allowing the chandelier to be positioned 700-900mm above a dining table or hung lower in double-height spaces. The five E14 bulbs (sold separately) are concealed behind the pleated shades, which diffuse light outward and downward while the open-top design allows some uplight to reflect off the ceiling.
The antique brass finish has a warmer, slightly darker tone than polished or brushed brass, with a low-sheen patina that reduces glare and pairs well with period, transitional and warm contemporary interiors. The scrollwork at each arm creates a sense of movement without overwhelming the structure, while the pleated ivory shades introduce a textile softness that balances the metal. At 4kg total weight, the chandelier requires secure ceiling fixing into a joist or rated ceiling rose.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Mara take?
The chandelier takes five E14 small Edison screw bulbs (candle style), sold separately. Most users fit warm white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining room lighting. Maximum wattage per bulb depends on the lamp type — check the bulb packaging.
Is the Mara dimmable?
Yes, when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The chandelier itself has no electronics — dimming depends entirely on the bulbs and wall switch used.
What ceiling height is needed?
The minimum drop of 650mm works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above when the chandelier is hung 700-900mm above a dining table. For lower ceilings, the chandelier may hang too low. For double-height spaces, the drop extends to 2500mm.
How is the chandelier cleaned?
The antique brass metalwork can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth. For the pleated shades, use a soft brush or vacuum with upholstery attachment to remove dust. Avoid spraying cleaning liquids directly onto the fabric or metal.
