Description

The Mara is a 64cm 3-light chandelier built on a French gold frame with three curved arms, each terminating in a black pleated fabric shade. The arms sweep outwards from a central column in a flowing motion, with each curve ending in a matching gold candle cup that holds an E14 bulb (sold separately). Small crystal droplets hang from the base of each arm, catching light from the shades above.

Designed for dining rooms, living rooms and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, the Mara provides both ambient and decorative light. The 640mm spread suits tables 1.4-1.8m long or sitting areas where the chandelier hangs as a centrepiece. The adjustable drop ranges from 650mm to 2500mm on installation, controlled by shortening the chain during fitting. The French gold finish on the metal frame is a warm, slightly antiqued brass tone that sits between polished brass and aged bronze.

The black pleated fabric shades diffuse light downwards and outwards, preventing direct glare from the bulbs while throwing soft pools of illumination onto surfaces below. The shades measure approximately 200mm diameter at the base and are removable for cleaning. The chandelier is dimmable when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch, allowing the light level to be adjusted for different times of day. At 2.4kg the fitting requires a ceiling rose rated for at least 5kg and secure fixing into a joist or suitable anchor point.

Can the shades be removed for cleaning?

Yes. The black pleated fabric shades lift off the gold candle cups for cleaning or replacement. Dust them with a soft brush or lint roller rather than washing, as fabric shades can lose their pleating structure if soaked.
