Description

The Mara is a 2-light wall light with two ivory pleated fabric shades mounted on intertwining polished chrome arms that form a sculptural S-curve across the backplate. Two clear glass crystal droplets hang beneath the arms, adding reflective detail. Each shade houses an E14 bulb (sold separately), and the fitting includes an integrated on/off rocker switch on the backplate.

Designed for living rooms, hallways and bedrooms where ambient lighting and decorative detail are both needed, the Mara suits traditional and transitional interiors that pair chrome metalwork with softer fabric elements. The 380mm width and 220mm projection work well on walls with 2.4m+ ceiling height, positioned above a console table, flanking a fireplace, or symmetrically on either side of a bed headboard. The pleated shades diffuse light outward and downward, providing softer ambient illumination rather than directed task light.

The ivory pleated fabric shades are rigidly held in a shallow tapered drum shape, 380mm wide at the base and approximately 140mm tall, with the pleating adding vertical texture that softens the light output. The polished chrome finish on the metalwork provides high reflectivity and pairs well with stainless steel door furniture, chrome radiator valves and mirror frames. The glass crystal droplets are individually hung on thin chrome wire and catch ambient light when the fitting is off, adding decorative interest during the day.

What bulbs does the Mara take?

Two E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle or golf-ball bulbs rated 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting. Maximum wattage depends on the bulb type. Check the bulb packaging.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if you fit dimmable E14 bulbs and pair the fitting with a compatible trailing-edge LED dimmer switch. The fitting itself has no dimming electronics. Dimming is controlled entirely by the wall switch and bulb compatibility.

Does the switch turn both bulbs on at once?

Yes. The integrated rocker switch on the backplate controls both E14 sockets together. You cannot switch the bulbs independently on this model.

Can the shades be removed for cleaning?

The ivory pleated shades are friction-fitted onto the lamp holders and can be lifted off carefully for dusting or spot-cleaning. Use a dry microfibre cloth or a soft brush attachment on a vacuum to remove dust from the pleats.
