Description

The Mara is a 2-light wall fitting with curved French gold arms that intersect to form a double-arm bracket, supporting two black pleated fabric shades and two faceted crystal droplets suspended beneath the frame. Each arm holds an E14 bulb fitting behind a black pleated shade, and an integrated pull-cord switch on the backplate controls both lamps together. The wall light measures 380mm wide by 310mm high with a 220mm projection from the wall.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms where accent lighting is needed alongside a central ceiling fitting, the Mara works above a sideboard, either side of a bed headboard, or in pairs flanking a fireplace. The two-light output provides localised ambient light rather than task lighting, and the pleated shades direct light upward and downward while diffusing the bulb glare. The integrated switch removes the need for separate wiring to a wall switch if the fitting is being added to an existing room layout.

The French gold finish on the metal frame is a warm mid-tone gold with slight antiquing, softer than polished brass and closer to the tone of vintage gilt frames. The curved arms and crystal droplets give the fitting a classical profile that pairs with traditional and art deco interiors, while the black pleated shades add contrast and prevent the gold from dominating the visual weight. What bulbs does the Mara take?

The fitting takes two E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K for ambient lighting in living rooms and bedrooms.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable E14 bulbs and have a compatible dimmer switch installed on the circuit. The integrated pull-cord switch on the wall light itself is on/off only.

How does the integrated switch work?

A pull-cord switch is built into the backplate. Pulling the cord once turns both lamps on, pulling again turns them off. This allows the light to be operated without needing a separate wall switch nearby.

What wall fixing is required?

The 0.90kg weight requires screws into wall plugs in masonry, or into a stud behind plasterboard. The backplate conceals the fixing screws once the light is installed and wired.
