Description

The MagPro 96 Loop Expander is an addressable fire alarm system expansion card from ESP that increases loop capacity to support up to 250 individual devices per loop. The card installs as a plug-in PCB module inside compatible ESP MagPro fire alarm control panels, adding additional loop capability without requiring external enclosures or additional panel hardware.

Designed for commercial, industrial and multi-occupancy buildings where fire alarm system capacity needs to scale beyond the base panel configuration, the loop expander allows installers to add detectors, call points, sounders and other addressable devices across larger floor areas or multiple building zones. Each device on the loop receives a unique address, enabling the control panel to identify the precise location of any alarm, fault or test condition.

The PCB measures approximately 100mm x 100mm and mounts onto the panel's internal connector header via the edge connector visible on the left side of the board. The green five-way terminal block on the top edge provides the outgoing loop connections for wiring to field devices. Installation requires panel power-down, card insertion, loop wiring termination, and address configuration through the panel software interface. The board runs Software Version 1.2 as marked on the white label.

The loop expander draws power from the host panel and does not require separate power supply connections. The card communicates with the panel processor via the internal data bus visible as the black header connector marked 'JPGEM0' on the top left of the board. Compatibility is limited to ESP MagPro 96 series panels that support modular loop expansion — check panel documentation before ordering.
