Description

The MagPro is a 16-zone addressable fire alarm panel supporting up to 250 devices per loop, housed in a grey metal cabinet with a 4x40 character LCD display and membrane keypad control panel. Certified to EN54-2/4 standards, the panel manages detection devices (smoke, heat, multi-sensor) and output devices (sounders, beacons, relays) on a two-wire addressable loop, with each device carrying a unique address that the panel polls continuously.

Designed for commercial buildings, industrial sites, schools, hotels and multi-tenancy residential blocks requiring compliance with British fire safety regulations, the MagPro supports single-panel installations for buildings with up to 16 detection zones or networked configurations linking up to 32 panels for larger sites. The class-change function allows zones to be reconfigured between day and night modes without re-programming, useful for buildings with flexible occupancy patterns. The panel logs up to 10,000 events (alarms, faults, tests, silences) in non-volatile memory for audit and investigation.

Programming is handled via free PC software connecting through the micro USB port on the front panel, allowing installers to configure device addresses, zone parameters, cause-and-effect logic, and sounder tones before commissioning. The included loop and battery calculator software sizes the power supply and standby battery capacity based on the number of devices and cable runs entered. The grey cabinet measures approximately 320mm wide x 480mm high x 100mm deep and accepts standard 12V standby batteries within the lower compartment.

Frequently Asked

How many devices can the panel support?

The MagPro supports up to 250 addressable devices per loop across 16 zones. This includes detectors (smoke, heat, multi-sensor), call points, sounders, beacons and input/output modules. The loop and battery calculator software helps determine the maximum device count based on cable length and power budget.

Can multiple panels be networked together?

Yes. Up to 32 MagPro panels can be networked for larger buildings or multi-building sites. Networked panels share alarm and fault information, allowing a fire in one area to trigger evacuation signals across the entire site according to programmed cause-and-effect logic.

What is the class-change function?

The class-change function allows zones to be reconfigured between different operational modes (day/night, occupied/unoccupied) without re-programming the panel. This is useful for buildings like schools or hotels where certain areas are unoccupied at night and require different detection or sounder behaviour.

Is the panel certified to British standards?

The MagPro is certified to EN54-2/4, the European standard for fire alarm control and indicating equipment and power supply equipment. This certification is required for commercial fire alarm installations in the UK under Building Regulations Approved Document B.
