Description

The Magnus is a cylindrical outdoor wall light in graphite finish with clear polycarbonate bands at top and bottom, each housing a 5.7W GX53 LED bulb. The dual-bulb configuration casts light both upward and downward from the cylinder, creating two pools of 3000K warm white light on the wall surface and ground below.

Designed for residential front doors, porch areas, rear patio walls and courtyard entrances, the Magnus provides marker lighting and low-level ambient wash rather than high-output security flood. The IP44 rating protects against rain and splashing water, making it suitable for covered outdoor positions and exposed walls in typical UK weather. The graphite powder-coated aluminium body resists corrosion and UV degradation over multiple seasons.

At 188mm tall and 100mm wide, the Magnus sits comfortably on residential-scale walls without dominating the façade. The 128mm projection from the wall keeps the cylinder clear of render and gives the light room to throw its upward and downward beams without obstruction. The clear polycarbonate bands diffuse the GX53 bulbs just enough to soften glare while maintaining clear directional output top and bottom.

Are the LED bulbs replaceable?

Yes. The Magnus uses two GX53 bulbs which twist-lock into sockets inside the top and bottom apertures. Replacement GX53 LEDs are widely available and the bulbs can be changed without removing the light from the wall.

Can the Magnus be used in fully exposed positions?

The IP44 rating protects against rain and splashing water, so the Magnus can be fitted to exposed walls. However, it is not submersion-proof and should not be installed where it could be submerged or subjected to high-pressure water jets.

What colour temperature does the LED produce?

The included GX53 bulbs are 3000K, which is a warm white light similar to traditional halogen. This temperature suits most residential outdoor settings and pairs well with warm-toned brickwork and render.

How is the Magnus wired?

The light connects to mains 230V wiring via a terminal block accessed from the rear. The wall plate covers the back box and cable entry once fitted. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician in compliance with UK wiring regulations.
