Description

A short bar of warm, diffused light, this one gives a soft even line rather than the tight cone you get from a spot. The body measures 300mm end to end and is finished in black, so it reads as a dark stroke against a pale ceiling and all but vanishes against a dark one. The LED sits behind a diffuser and draws 8W, with its driver already on board, and the light it gives is a warm 3000K.

We reach for a linear head like this where a run of track wants filling in rather than punctuating: over a kitchen worktop, along a shelf of books, above a bench in a workshop or a desk in a study. It is dimmable, though it needs a Triac dimmer to do it, and the controller in the same range handles that for a whole system. Set a few along a length of track and you get continuous working light; alternate them with spots and you get a mix of wash and accent on one circuit. Keep it to dry indoor rooms.

The black finish runs the whole body, so nothing bright interrupts the line. The diffuser is the part worth keeping clean: isolate the circuit, give it a moment to go cold, then draw a dry microfibre cloth along its length, and keep sprays and kitchen cleaners away from it. The LED is built in, so there are no lamps to change. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the tracks, joints and end caps it belongs with in the same black, in shallow, deep and recessed profiles, so a run can turn a corner and still look of a piece.
