Description

A compact spotlight head for the Magneto low-voltage track range, black from the barrel to the fixing shoulder. The light comes from an integrated LED drawing 7W and set to 4000K cool white, and the beam is tight rather than broad, so it lands on the thing you aim it at instead of washing across the ceiling. The head measures 43mm across, which keeps it visually quiet along a run of track and stops a line of several from looking heavy. Output is fixed, so it sits happily on an ordinary switch.

We reach for heads like this when a room wants light in particular places rather than everywhere at once: a stretch of worktop, a shelf of books, a picture above the chimney breast, bottles and glass in an alcove. The cool white keeps whites clean and colours honest, which tends to suit kitchens, home studies, workshops and studios more than a soft evening sitting room. Because the supply is carried by the track itself, heads can be added, moved along or re-aimed as a room changes use, which is why the system earns its place in galleries, small shops and open-plan spaces.

The driver is built in, so each head arrives self-contained and ready to go onto the track. The finish is a flat black that hides dust well and disappears against a dark ceiling.
