Description

A compact black spot head for the Magneto track system, this one puts a tight, controlled pool of light where you want it rather than washing a whole ceiling. The barrel is slim and unfussy, matt black from front to back, and the LED is built in and tuned to a warm 3000K. Its driver is housed within the head.

We reach for heads like this where a room wants several small, precise sources instead of a broad ceiling wash: a picture wall, a kitchen run, a display shelf in a hallway. At 7W apiece they stay modest on the circuit, and each gives 560 lumens of warm light, ample for accent work and, in a group, enough to light a room properly. Dimming is done through a triac dimmer, and we stock the Magneto controller made for these systems. Keep it to dry indoor rooms; it is not intended for bathroom zones or covered outdoor spots.

Everything about the finish is matt black, body and trim alike, which lets the head read as part of the track rather than an object stuck onto it. Give the housing and the lens face an occasional wipe with a dry cloth, switched off at the wall first; dust on the front dulls a narrow beam quickly, and no polish or solvent is wanted. It carries a three year warranty. The rest of the Magneto range is finished to match, so shallow surface track, deep surface and pendant track and recessed track all sit alongside it, with end caps and corner joints to take a run round a wall. The triac controller is a separate purchase.
