Description

A slim black tube that hangs from the Magneto low voltage track system, just 30mm across, so a row of them reads as a fine line rather than a set of shades. The integrated 5W LED sits deep in the tube and gives a tight, well controlled cool white at 4000K, the sort of light that lands on the surface you aimed it at instead of spilling across the room. A driver is supplied, and the light is not dimmable.

We reach for this one over kitchen islands and long worktops, where two or three tubes in a line do more useful work than a single wide pendant, and it is just as good over a run of display shelving or a desk in a home office. The drop is adjustable within a set range, so the same fitting can hang low and close over a breakfast bar or sit higher above a dining table without looking stranded. Because the tube is narrow, sightlines across an open-plan room stay clear.

The body and the flex are black throughout, with a plain cylindrical profile and no visible fussiness at the head. Dust settles on the top of a tube like this more than anywhere else, so run a dry cloth along it now and then with the power off, and keep polishes and sprays away from the lens. It carries a three year warranty. The rest of the range is black to match, including 1m lengths of shallow, deep and recessed track, end caps, and L-joints for taking a run round a corner or from wall to wall, which makes it easy to plan a line first and add tubes where the light is actually wanted.
