Description

A small spotlight head for the Magneto low voltage track range, finished in gold with black detailing at the ends. The integrated LED draws 5W and gives 400 lumens at 3000K, a warm white that sits comfortably against brass, timber and warm paint. The head tilts and rotates on its stem, so the light can be aimed at a picture, a shelf or a worktop rather than spilling evenly across the room. It is triac dimmable, with the dimming handled at the controller.

We reach for heads like this where a room wants several small pools of light instead of one bright source: kitchen islands, alcove shelving, a hall lined with framed prints, a desk in a home office. Heads can be added to or shifted along a run as furniture changes, which makes track a sensible answer in open plan rooms and anywhere the layout is still settling. The beam is controlled rather than broad, so it works best with something to land on. A triac dimmer is needed and is not supplied with the head; the Magneto controller handles a full system from one place.

The gold reads warm rather than bright brass, and the black detailing keeps a run of them looking quiet along the track. Wipe the head with a dry cloth when you dust the shelf below it, and let it cool before you take hold of it to re-aim the beam. This is an indoor fitting for dry rooms. The LED is fixed in place, so there is no lamp to change. It carries a three year warranty.
