Description

A slim run of diffused light made for the Magneto track system, measuring 600mm end to end and sitting only a fraction wider than a pencil. Rather than throwing a beam, the soft face spreads light evenly along the whole length, so shelves and worktops get a gentle wash instead of scallops and bright patches. The integral LED draws 16W and gives a warm 3000K white, the sort of tone that flatters timber, brick and brass. Output is fixed, with no dimming built into the unit itself.

We reach for linear pieces like this where a row of spots would feel busy or too directional. Along a kitchen island, above open shelving, over a desk or down the length of a hallway, it gives continuous light that reads as part of the architecture rather than as a fitting on show. It suits anyone putting a track scheme together in stages. We would happily mix one or two of these with spots on the same run, letting the linear units do the general light while the spots pick out what deserves attention.

Housing and end faces are black throughout, which keeps the unit quiet against a dark ceiling and crisp against a pale one. Wipe the diffuser now and then with a barely damp cloth, once the light has been switched off and given time to cool, and keep solvents away from the black surface. It is meant for dry rooms indoors on a domestic track system. It carries a three year warranty. We also stock the black shallow, deep and recessed track lengths, the L-joints for turning a run at a corner or wall, and the matching end caps, so a scheme can grow or change direction later without a change of look. The LED is built in, so there is nothing to fit or replace at the fitting.
