Description

The head is a plain disc, 75mm across and finished in black, drawing its power from the Magneto track it runs on. There is no lamp to fit or replace: the LED is integral, and at 10W it gives around 800 lumens of warm white light, thrown as a defined pool rather than a broad wash. It will dim, though that calls for a triac dimmer on the circuit, and no dimmer comes with the head itself. We would put a short run of these over a kitchen island.

Track suits rooms where you want light in particular places rather than spread flatly across the whole ceiling, and this head is small enough to do that quietly: down onto a worktop, across a run of shelves, or set along a hallway to pick out pictures. We turn to it in open-plan ground floors, where a single track can serve cooking, eating and a reading chair using the same heads. The black keeps it discreet on a dark ceiling and frankly visible on a white one.

Black runs across the face and body, and it is the finish used through the other Magneto parts, so heads, track and joints read as a matched set. For care, switch the circuit off, let the fitting cool, then lift the dust away with a dry cloth; keep sprays and damp cloths off the LED face. It carries a three year warranty. The rest of the range covers surface track in shallow and deep profiles, a recessed version, corner joints, end caps and a triac controller, all in black, so a full layout can be built from the same family. A dimmer is not included.
