Description

A small ball on a slim suspension, this one hangs from the Magneto track rather than a ceiling point. Gold and black work together on the body, so it reads warm and metallic from across a room and darker in close-up. The ball measures 95mm across, modest enough to sit at eye level without blocking a view. Light comes from an integrated LED in warm white, and it dims on a triac dimmer.

Hang a run of them over a kitchen island, a breakfast bar or a long worktop and you get pools of light you can space and respace as the room changes. The drop can be set anywhere between 1.2m and 1.7m, which covers most ceilings and keeps the balls clear of heads at a peninsula. Because it hangs low, it suits rooms where the light wants to be down among people rather than spread across a ceiling. We reach for it in kitchens where a fixed pendant would commit you too early, and in shop-style spaces where the lighting needs to follow the counters.

The finish is gold with black, and the driver sits in the system so the pendant itself stays neat. To clean, turn the circuit off and go over the ball with a dry microfibre cloth; polishes and sprays will dull a gold finish faster than dust ever does. It carries a three year warranty. A triac dimmer is needed and does not come with the light, though we stock the Magneto controller alongside the deep surface and pendant track, its joints and end caps, so a whole run can be put together from one range.

How much light does one of these give?

Each one draws 10W and produces around 800 lumens at 3000K, a warm white that flatters timber, brass and stone. Colour rendering is high, so food and fabric colours stay true.

What dimmer does it need?

A triac dimmer, which is not supplied. The Magneto push switch controller covers 12-48V systems, up to 720W, and one is used per system rather than one per light.

Which track does it work with?

It is made for the deep Magneto track, the 5.5cm profile sold for surface and pendant use, with matching joints and end caps in the same range.

Can the hanging height be adjusted?

Yes. The drop is adjustable from 1200mm to 1700mm, measured from the track, so you can set it to the worktop or table below.

Is there a bulb to replace later?

No, the LED is integrated and rated at 30,000 hours, so there is no lamp to change. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.
