Description

The MAGfire SCP2R is a conventional resettable fire alarm call point housed in a red thermoplastic enclosure with a clear protective cover over the activation element. The call point is activated by pressing the central element, which triggers the connected fire alarm panel on a conventional two-wire loop. After activation, the element can be reset using the supplied key, returning the device to standby without requiring component replacement.

Designed for commercial, industrial and residential fire alarm installations, the call point mounts either surface-fixed using the included back box or flush-mounted into a standard 25mm back box. The red enclosure and white activation label meet UK fire safety signage standards, making the call point immediately recognisable in corridors, stairwells, exit routes and areas of public assembly. The IP40 rating limits installation to dry indoor environments.

The thermoplastic housing weighs 170g and measures approximately 90mm square by 40mm deep when surface-mounted with the included back box. The resettable mechanism allows the call point to be tested and returned to service quickly during routine fire alarm maintenance, avoiding the cost and downtime of replacing single-use glass elements. A spare cover (part SCP2R-CVR) is available separately for replacing damaged or broken protective covers without replacing the entire unit.

Frequently Asked

What is a conventional fire alarm call point?

A conventional call point connects to a fire alarm panel via a two-wire loop and signals the panel when activated. The panel identifies which zone the signal originated from but not the specific call point. This differs from addressable systems where each device has a unique identity on the network.

How is the call point reset after activation?

After the alarm has been acknowledged and the system reset at the control panel, the call point is reset using the supplied key. Insert the key into the access slot, lift the protective cover, and return the activation element to its original position. The cover then clips back into place.

Can it be mounted flush to the wall?

Yes. The call point can be flush-mounted into a standard 25mm back box or surface-mounted using the included surface back box. For flush mounting, the surface back box is not used and the call point fixes directly to the recessed box.

What does the IP40 rating mean?

IP40 provides protection against objects larger than 1mm but no protection against water ingress. This call point is suitable for dry indoor environments only and should not be installed in bathrooms, outdoor locations or areas exposed to moisture.
