Description

The MAGfire conventional resettable call point is a surface-mount fire alarm manual break-glass unit in a red polycarbonate housing rated to IP67. Certified to EN54-11-A, the call point connects to conventional two-wire fire alarm panels and triggers an alarm when the glass element is pressed inward. The unit resets using a key rather than requiring glass replacement after activation.

Designed for commercial, industrial and outdoor fire alarm installations, the IP67 rating protects the internal circuitry from dust ingress and temporary immersion in water up to 1m depth. This makes the call point suitable for external mounting on building perimeters, car parks, loading bays, wash-down areas and other environments where moisture or dust exposure is expected. The red housing with flame-and-house icon provides immediate visual recognition as a fire alarm activation point.

The resettable design reduces long-term maintenance costs compared to glass-replacement models. After a drill or accidental activation, the call point is returned to service by inserting the reset key and turning to withdraw the internal contact mechanism. The housing measures approximately 90mm square and requires standard two-core fire alarm cable terminated at rear screw terminals. Each call point weighs 200g net, allowing installation on lightweight partition walls without additional backing support.

Frequently Asked

What does IP67 mean for this call point?

IP67 certifies the call point is dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion in water up to 1m depth for 30 minutes. This allows outdoor mounting or use in areas subject to wash-down, moisture or dust exposure without compromising operation.

How is the call point reset after activation?

The unit resets using a supplied key inserted into the front aperture. Turning the key withdraws the internal contact mechanism and returns the call point to its armed state. No glass replacement is needed, unlike traditional break-glass call points.

What fire alarm panels is it compatible with?

The MAGfire call point works with any conventional two-wire fire alarm panel. It is not addressable and does not carry a unique identifier on the loop — the panel registers it as a zone activation rather than an individual device.

Is it certified for UK fire alarm installations?

Yes. EN54-11-A certification confirms the call point meets European fire detection standards. Installation must comply with BS 5839-1 for fire alarm system design and BS 7671 for electrical wiring.
