Description

The MAGfire BPS2EN is a 24V 2A power supply unit certified to EN54-4 for use in fire detection and alarm systems. It delivers a regulated 27.6V DC output at up to 2A continuous load, with built-in battery charging and fault monitoring circuitry enclosed in a white steel enclosure measuring 400mm × 360mm × 100mm.

Designed for commercial fire alarm installations where EN54-4 compliance is mandatory, the PSU provides primary power to control panels, detectors and sounders while simultaneously maintaining standby batteries in a charged state. Four LED indicators on the front panel show mains status, output fault, battery fault and charger fault conditions, allowing installers and maintenance engineers to diagnose system issues without opening the enclosure.

The 27.6V output voltage is standard for 24V fire alarm systems, providing sufficient headroom to charge batteries while maintaining nominal 24V at connected devices under load. The steel enclosure includes knockouts for cable entry and mounting points for internal batteries (batteries sold separately). The unit weighs 3.49kg net and ships at 3.62kg gross, requiring wall-mounting to support the combined weight of PSU and batteries.

EN54-4 is the European standard for power supply equipment used in fire detection and alarm systems. Certification to EN54-4 confirms the PSU meets requirements for reliability, output regulation, battery charging and fault indication in fire safety applications.

What batteries does it support?

The enclosure accommodates sealed lead-acid batteries for standby power. Battery capacity and configuration depend on the system's standby duration requirements and total load. Batteries are sold separately and must be sized according to the connected fire alarm equipment.

What do the LED indicators show?

Four front-panel LEDs indicate mains status (power present), output fault (overload or short circuit), battery fault (disconnected, failed or low voltage) and charger fault (charging circuit malfunction). These allow fault diagnosis without opening the enclosure.

Can it power non-fire alarm equipment?

The MAGfire is designed and certified specifically for fire detection and alarm systems. Using it to power non-fire equipment may invalidate the EN54-4 certification and compromise system compliance with fire safety regulations.
