Madagascar LED Floor Lamp 24W 3000K - Sand White

The Madagascar is a 1.8m LED floor lamp built around a spiralling sand white metal frame that wraps around an opal white diffuser column. The integrated 24W LED runs the full height of the lamp, casting 1680 lumens of 3000K warm white light through the opal diffuser at a 120° beam angle. An inline floor dimmer on the cable allows brightness adjustment without wall-mounted controls.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and office reception areas where both ambient light and a vertical sculptural element are needed, the Madagascar works in corners, beside sofas, or flanking media units. The 220mm circular footprint fits tight spaces without requiring a bulky tripod base, and the 2.95kg weight provides stability on carpets and hard floors without anchoring. The twisted frame casts secondary shadows on nearby walls when lit, adding depth beyond the direct illumination.

The sand white finish on the metal frame is a warm off-white with grey undertones, sitting between pure white and beige. This pairs cleanly with neutral walls, natural oak and walnut furniture, and both warm and cool-toned textiles. The opal diffuser hides the LED strip inside while maintaining translucency, so the light appears to come from the entire column rather than discrete points. The dimmer allows the lamp to be set low for evening ambient light or higher for task lighting when reading beside a chair.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED is integrated into the structure and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use, which equates to around 11 years of use at 6 hours per day. The LED is covered under a 3-year warranty.

How does the dimmer work?

The lamp includes an inline floor dimmer on the mains cable, typically positioned 1-1.5m from the plug. You rotate or slide the dimmer control to adjust brightness from full output down to a low ambient glow without needing a wall-mounted dimmer switch.

What ceiling height is needed?

The lamp stands 1.8m tall with a 220mm diameter footprint. It suits rooms with standard UK ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, leaving approximately 600mm clearance above the lamp. Lower ceilings may make the lamp feel overly tall in proportion to the room.

Is it stable on carpets?

Yes. The 220mm circular base and 2.95kg weight provide stability on both short-pile carpets and hard floors. On thick shag or deep-pile carpets, the base may benefit from sitting on a firm surface or rug to prevent tilting.
