The Machio is a slim LED flood light in black and white, with a black aluminium body and a white glass diffuser across almost the whole face. It is a near-square panel, 19.2cm long, 20.5cm wide and only 6cm high, and it weighs 0.57KG. The LED is integrated, so there is no bulb to buy or change, and it gives 8,000lm at 4000K, a neutral white that shows colours clearly. It is rated IP65, sealed against dust and against jets of water from any direction, so it is made to live outdoors through all the British weather.

That much light from so compact a head makes it a strong choice for a driveway, a yard, the side of a house or a dark corner of the garden. Aim it up into a tree or across a planted border and it picks out trunk and leaves in clear detail after dark; point it across a patio or towards a back door and you can see exactly where you are stepping. Neutral white suits practical spaces better than a warm glow, so we would choose it for paths, parking and working areas, and keep softer lights for the places where you sit and relax.

There is no switch on the light itself, as it is switched at the wall, and it runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains, so it is installed by a qualified electrician.
