Description

The Macchioni is a round LED wall light in white, 20cm across and just 4.5cm deep from the wall. Its steel and plastic body is built up in layered rings: a frosted outer band, a smooth white ring and, at the centre, a white plastic diffuser with a crystal effect that gives it a fine, sparkling texture. The LEDs are integrated, drawing 12W and giving 1,560 lumens of neutral light at 4000K, so there is never a bulb to buy or change. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

Because it sits so close to the wall, it suits places where a deeper fitting would be knocked or crowd the space: a hallway, a landing, beside a staircase or above a sideboard in the living room. Neutral white at 4000K is crisp and clear without feeling harsh, which makes it a good choice for a home office, a bedroom wall or a dressing area where you want to see colours as they are. Light comes through the frosted outer ring and around the centre, so as well as lighting the room it throws a soft halo across the wall behind it. The plain white finish sits quietly against pale or neutral paintwork and lets the sparkle of the diffuser do the talking.

There is no switch or dimmer on the light itself. It is not dimmable and is switched at the wall, so it works from an ordinary wall switch. As a wired mains light, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions come as a download. Its energy class is E, and the packed weight is 0.722KG. With integrated LEDs and no bulb to replace, it is a fitting you put up once and simply use.

It gives 1,560 lumens from 12W of integrated LEDs at 4000K, a neutral light that is crisp and clear without a yellow cast.

No, it is not dimmable. It has no switch of its own and is switched at the wall, so it comes on at full brightness from a wall switch.
