Description

This plaster-in LED tape profile from LYYT is made for building LED lighting into walls and ceilings as a more permanent fixture. The profile sinks into the surface so the finished result sits flush, giving a clean, modern look with no visible housing. It takes a single strip of LED tape (US: LED strip) measuring 8mm to 12.5mm wide, and comes supplied with a white diffuser for a soft, ambient glow rather than a row of bright points.

The aluminium extrusion has a 3mm lip, which lets the plasterer lay a good bed of plaster around it and reduces the chance of cracking once it dries. The diffuser is a snap-fit design, so it clips into place without extra fixings and can be removed if you need to reach the tape. Each length is 2m and can be cut down to suit your run, making it straightforward to fit around a particular space or join across a longer stretch.

The external cross-section measures 55.5 x 15mm and the internal channel is 15.5 x 12.5mm, with a diffuser visible width of 12.5mm. Each profile is individually packaged in a recyclable tube, which keeps it straight and protected in transit and during storage before you fit it. This is a good option where you want the light source hidden and the finish to look built-in, whether that is a plaster ceiling, a bulkhead or a recessed wall detail.
