Lyvane Extra Small Alabaster Globe Pendant Light - Brushed Brass

The Lyvane is a 100mm alabaster globe pendant light with a perfectly spherical shade cut from natural Spanish alabaster, suspended on a black fabric cable from a brushed brass cap. A single G9 lamp holder sits inside the globe, casting light through the stone so the alabaster itself becomes the diffuser rather than a separate frosted layer.

At 100mm in diameter, the Lyvane is a compact pendant suited to clustered installations over kitchen islands and dining tables, hung in pairs over bedside tables, or used singly in cloakrooms, hallways and reading nooks. The small scale lets multiple pendants be specified at varied drop heights to build a constellation effect, while a single unit reads as a quiet decorative accent rather than a dominant fitting. The G9 holder accepts standard low-wattage capsule bulbs (sold separately).

Each globe is hand-cut from a block of Spanish alabaster, then turned and polished to a smooth spherical surface. The natural mineral veining and tonal variation differ between pieces, so no two Lyvane pendants look identical when lit. The brushed brass cap softens reflections at the suspension point and gives a warm metallic break between the black cable and the pale stone, pairing comfortably with both warm-toned interiors and cooler greys.

What bulb does the Lyvane take?

The pendant uses a single G9 capsule bulb, sold separately. We recommend a warm-white LED G9 between 2700K and 3000K to suit the natural tone of the alabaster and produce a soft ambient glow through the stone.

Can multiple Lyvane pendants be hung together?

Yes. The 100mm diameter makes the Lyvane well-suited to cluster installations of three, five or more pendants at varied drop heights over kitchen islands, dining tables and stairwells. Each pendant is supplied as a single unit on its own cable, so an electrician can set drops to suit the room.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each globe is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, cloud-like markings and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and becomes more pronounced when the pendant is lit.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
