Lyria 30cm Globe Glass Light Shade - Smoked

This is a smoked glass globe shade from our Lyria range, a full sphere 30cm across and 30cm tall. The glass carries a grey smoked tint yet remains transparent, so it reads as a soft, dark orb rather than a solid ball. What you receive is the glass shade on its own. It becomes a light only once it is paired with the range's E27 pendant suspension set, which is sold separately and which the maker lists as required, together with a bulb, which is also not included. If you already own the suspension set and need to replace a broken or tired shade, this is the part to order.

A globe of this size suits a pendant over a dining table, above a kitchen island or in a stairwell, where its rounded outline can be seen from several sides. The smoked tint makes the most sense in a room with darker woods, charcoal walls or black metal, and it sits just as comfortably against pale plaster, where the grey glass becomes the contrast. Because the glass is transparent, the bulb inside is part of the look, so it is worth choosing one you are happy to see. Several shades hung at different heights over a long table make a lively group.

The shade is made from smoked glass and weighs 0.7KG. Glass does not yellow with age, so the grey tone you choose now is the tone you keep, and it wipes clean with a soft cloth. The suspension set that carries it is a mains product and is installed by a qualified electrician. Before ordering, check that your pendant is the range's E27 suspension set, since this globe is listed to fit that set, and remember to add a bulb of your choice.

Does this glass shade come with the pendant suspension set?

No. The shade comes on its own; the range's E27 pendant suspension set is sold separately, and the maker lists it as required to hang the globe.

Is a bulb included with the Lyria globe shade?

No bulb is included. The shade is used with the range's E27 pendant suspension set, so you add an E27 bulb of your own choice.

How big is the smoked globe?

It is a full sphere 30cm across and 30cm tall, and the glass weighs 0.7KG, so it suits a generous space over a table or island.

What colour is the smoked glass?

The glass has a grey smoked tint while staying transparent, so it looks like a dark, soft orb and the bulb inside remains visible.

Can I replace a broken shade on my existing Lyria pendant?

Yes, provided your pendant uses the range's E27 pendant suspension set, as that is the set this globe is made to fit.
