Description

The Luxeon Surface L-Connector is a 100mm x 100mm horizontal junction piece for Ideal Lux Luxeon surface-mount track lighting systems, finished in white. It connects two perpendicular track sections at a 90-degree angle, allowing track runs to turn corners while maintaining electrical continuity for dimmable LED fittings mounted on the track.

Designed for commercial offices, retail spaces, galleries and residential rooms where track lighting follows walls or ceiling junctions, the L-connector sits proud of the ceiling surface by the same depth as the track profile itself. The white finish matches Luxeon white track sections, creating a continuous visual line across corners. The connector's moulded plastic housing is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only.

Installation involves connecting the track sections into either side of the L-connector using the Luxeon clip-in rail system, with no visible screws on the connector body once assembled. The internal conductors align automatically when the track sections are pushed home, maintaining the dimmable circuit across the junction. The 100mm arm length on each side gives clearance for track-mounted spotlights to rotate freely without fouling the corner.

Is this compatible with all Luxeon track sections?

This L-connector is designed specifically for Ideal Lux Luxeon surface-mount track systems. It will not fit recessed track profiles or track systems from other manufacturers. Check that your existing track is from the Luxeon surface range before ordering.

Does it maintain dimming functionality across the corner?

Yes. The internal conductors carry the full dimmable circuit through the connector, so spotlights mounted on either side of the L-junction will dim together when controlled from a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit.

Can it be used outdoors or in bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means this connector is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It is not rated for damp or wet environments such as bathrooms, kitchens near sinks, or any outdoor application.

What's the clearance needed for spotlights at the corner?

The 100mm arm on each side of the L-connector gives sufficient clearance for most Luxeon track-mounted spotlights to rotate without hitting the corner. Larger spotlight heads may need to be positioned slightly away from the junction itself.
