Description

The Luxeon is a 284mm linear track light with an integrated 13W LED emitting 3000K warm white light through an extruded aluminium profile finished in matt black. The magnetic rear fixing clips onto compatible Ideal Lux Ego profile tracks, allowing the light to be repositioned along the track length without tools and rotated to direct the beam where needed.

Designed for retail display lighting, gallery accent lighting and residential track systems where adjustable directional light is required, the Luxeon suits environments needing flexible spotlighting that can be reconfigured as room layouts or displays change. The 22mm projection from the track keeps the fitting low-profile against the ceiling, making it appropriate for standard 2.4m ceiling heights. The dimmable LED allows output to be adjusted from full brightness down to low ambient levels, controlled by a compatible wall dimmer or track dimmer module.

The extruded aluminium construction provides continuous heat dissipation along the 284mm length, keeping the LED operating temperature stable and extending lamp life. The black anodised finish resists tarnishing and pairs with black or white track profiles. The 3000K colour temperature renders warm tones accurately without the yellow cast of older halogen track lights, making it suitable for displaying textiles, artwork, warm-toned timber and brass fixtures. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to indoor dry locations.

The Luxeon is part of Ideal Lux's Ego magnetic track system. Multiple Luxeon modules can be combined on the same track with other Ego-compatible spotlights, pendants and linear modules to create mixed lighting schemes. The 5-year warranty covers the integrated LED and housing against manufacturing defects.

What track system does this fit?

The Luxeon fits Ideal Lux Ego profile magnetic tracks only. It will not fit standard three-circuit tracks or other manufacturers' magnetic track systems. The magnetic rear clips onto the Ego track and can be repositioned along its length without tools.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The LED is integrated into the aluminium housing and is not user-replaceable. The LED is covered by a 5-year warranty and is rated for approximately 30,000 hours of use, equivalent to around 10 years of typical domestic operation.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes. The Luxeon is dimmable and works with most leading-edge and trailing-edge dimmer switches rated for LED loads. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model — for best results use an Ideal Lux-compatible track dimmer module or a phase-cut dimmer rated for low-wattage LED.

What beam angle does it provide?

The Luxeon provides a linear wash of light along its 284mm length rather than a focused spotlight beam. It is designed for accent lighting along shelves, counters, or architectural features where a continuous line of light is needed rather than a concentrated spot.
