Description

The Luxeon is a 12W LED track spotlight with a magnetic fixing system that clips onto compatible track rails without tools or visible fixings. The integrated LED delivers 3000K warm white light through a cylindrical white extruded aluminium body measuring 190mm along the track, with a 105mm height from the rail to the base of the spotlight head.

Designed for retail, gallery, kitchen and office spaces where accent lighting needs repositioning without re-wiring, the magnetic mount slides along the track and locks into position with a twist. The spotlight head tilts and rotates on a ball joint, allowing light to be directed onto wall displays, worktop surfaces, or ceiling features. The dimmable LED pairs with most phase-cut dimmers, giving control over light intensity from full 12W output down to a low ambient level.

The extruded aluminium construction acts as a passive heat sink for the LED, avoiding the need for visible cooling fins or fans. The white finish provides a neutral backdrop in contemporary commercial and residential interiors, blending into white or light-coloured ceilings without drawing attention to the fitting itself. The IP20 rating limits the spotlight to dry indoor environments — it is not suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms or outdoor canopies.

What track system does the Luxeon fit?

The Luxeon uses a magnetic fixing designed for compatible magnetic track rails. It will not fit standard 3-circuit track or older mechanical track systems. Check the track system specification before ordering to confirm magnetic compatibility.

Is the LED replaceable?

No. The 12W LED is integrated into the spotlight body. When the LED reaches end of life (typically 25,000-30,000 hours), the entire spotlight needs replacing. This is standard for integrated LED track fittings.

Can it be used in a kitchen?

Yes, provided the track is mounted in a dry location away from direct water exposure. The IP20 rating permits use in general kitchen areas but not directly above sinks, hobs or in steam zones. For wet areas, a higher IP-rated fitting is needed.

What dimmer switch is recommended?

Most trailing-edge (phase-cut) LED dimmers work with the Luxeon. Ideal Lux recommend testing the specific dimmer model with the spotlight before final installation, as dimmer compatibility varies by brand and circuit load.
