Lux 2 Light Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Lux is a 2-light flush ceiling light built from polished chrome tubing bent into two overlapping triangular loops, each holding a carved frosted-and-clear glass shade around a G9 bulb fitting. The fitting mounts directly to the ceiling via a 160mm x 210mm polished chrome base plate, with the triangular arms projecting 400mm down from the ceiling plane.

Designed for bedrooms, hallways, landings and low-ceiling living spaces where a pendant would hang too low, the Lux provides ambient light through the carved glass diffusers while keeping the majority of its visual interest within the upper 400mm of the room. The two G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the textured glass globes, which scatter the light across the carved surface and reduce direct glare. The polished chrome frame reflects surrounding light and gives the fitting a sculptural presence when viewed from below.

The triangular arrangement of the chrome tubing creates an asymmetric composition that reads as more dynamic than a simple circular or rectangular flush fitting. Each carved glass shade shows a raised geometric pattern on the outer surface, visible when the light is off and backlit when the bulbs are switched on. The polished chrome finish pairs with contemporary chrome fixtures and hardware, while the frosted-clear glass softens the reflective metal and prevents the fitting from feeling too industrial. At 1.1kg the Lux mounts securely to standard UK ceiling roses without needing additional support.

What bulbs does the Lux take?

The fitting takes two G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 2.5W-4W LED G9 bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for bedroom or hallway use. Maximum wattage depends on the bulb type. Check the packaging for heat limits.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable G9 bulbs and pair them with a compatible dimmer switch. Not all LED G9 bulbs dim smoothly, so choose bulbs marked as dimmable and check compatibility with your specific dimmer model.

What ceiling height is needed?

The Lux projects 400mm from the ceiling, so it works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.2m upwards. In rooms lower than 2.4m it functions primarily as ambient light rather than task light, as the bulbs sit relatively high in the space.

How is the carved glass cleaned?

The glass shades can be removed for cleaning by unscrewing the retaining rings at the base of each globe. Wash in warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly before refitting. The polished chrome frame can be wiped with a soft microfibre cloth.
