Description

The Lupa is a 6-light linear pendant with an 800mm polished chrome bar supporting six frosted glass shades at equal intervals. Each shade houses a G9 bulb (sold separately) and sits on a rectangular backplate that acts as both diffuser mount and reflector. The fitting suspends from two adjustable cables, giving a drop range of 400-620mm from ceiling to the base of the shades.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and long hallways where distributed light across a horizontal plane is needed, the Lupa provides six individual downward-facing light sources rather than a single central fixture. The 800mm bar length suits island worktops of 1.2-1.8m, positioning the six shades to cast overlapping pools of light across the preparation surface without shadowing. The telescopic drop adjustment allows the height to be set during installation to match ceiling height and furniture clearance.

The frosted glass shades soften the G9 bulb output and eliminate direct glare when viewed from seated or standing positions below the fitting. The polished chrome finish on the bar, backplates and ceiling canopy reflects ambient light from surrounding surfaces, adding brightness to the space without additional fittings. At 4.7kg the Lupa requires a ceiling fixing capable of supporting the weight, typically a joist position or a ceiling rose fixed to solid substrate.

What drop height works best for a kitchen island?

For a standard 900mm-high island worktop, setting the drop so the base of the shades sits 650-750mm above the worktop provides good task lighting without head clearance issues. This typically means a 400-500mm drop from a 2.4m ceiling.

How is the telescopic adjustment set?

The two suspension cables pass through adjustable grips in the ceiling canopy. During installation, the cables are pulled to the desired length and locked in position. The adjustment cannot be changed once the canopy is ceiling-mounted without removing the canopy.
