Description

The Lumira is a 155mm diameter round outdoor bollard light with a cast aluminium frame finished in white powder-coated paint and a white polycarbonate diffuser. The bollard houses a single GX53 lamp (sold separately) and carries an IP44 rating, protecting the internals from water splashes and solid objects above 1mm — suitable for installation in garden pathways, patios, terraces and driveways where direct hose-down or standing water is not expected.

Designed for bollard-style pathway lighting where the fixture sits approximately 600-900mm above ground level, the Lumira casts a pool of downward-diffused light through the polycarbonate lens. The white diffuser softens the bulb output and spreads light evenly across a 2-3m radius depending on bulb wattage, making it useful for marking path edges, steps, borders and driveway entrances. The fixture is compatible with dimmable GX53 bulbs when paired with a compatible outdoor dimmer.

The cast aluminium construction gives the bollard weight and stability against wind and accidental contact, while the powder-coated finish provides UV and corrosion resistance in typical UK outdoor conditions. The white finish integrates cleanly with rendered walls, white window frames and coastal or contemporary garden schemes. Ideal Lux covers the Lumira with a 5-year warranty.

Frequently Asked

What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP44 protects against water splashes from any direction and solid objects above 1mm. The Lumira is suitable for patios, pathways and driveways where it may encounter rain and garden irrigation, but should not be installed where it will be directly hosed down or submerged in standing water.

What bulb does it take?

The bollard takes a single GX53 bulb, which is a flat disc-shaped fitting with two pins. GX53 bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this bollard with a warm-white LED GX53 bulb between 7-9W and 2700K-3000K for pathway lighting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when paired with a dimmable GX53 bulb and a compatible outdoor dimmer circuit. The bollard itself does not limit dimming functionality.

How is it installed?

The bollard is designed for hard-wired installation and typically bolts to a concrete or paved surface. A qualified electrician should install the fixture and connect it to a protected outdoor circuit with appropriate RCD protection.
