Description
The Lumira is a 650mm outdoor bollard light combining a cast aluminium anthracite base with a white polycarbonate cylindrical diffuser. The single GX53 bulb fitting (sold separately) sits inside the diffuser, casting soft downward and radial light through the white polycarbonate. The IP44 rating makes the bollard suitable for UK garden pathways, driveways, terraces and poolside areas where moisture resistance is required.
Designed for pathway and feature lighting rather than security flood lighting, the Lumira provides low-level ambient light along garden borders, beside steps, or marking the edges of patios and pool areas. The 650mm height keeps the light source below typical eye level when standing, reducing glare while still providing enough upward glow to illuminate foliage or architectural features when positioned near planting or walls. The 155mm diameter footprint fits standard 100mm circular ground box mounts.
The cast aluminium base is powder-coated in anthracite, a dark grey-black finish that withstands UV exposure without fading and pairs well with contemporary exterior materials like porcelain paving, charcoal composite decking and rendered walls. The white polycarbonate diffuser is impact-resistant and softer than glass, making it safer in areas with children or pets. The contrast between the dark base and white diffuser gives a defined silhouette during daylight hours.
The GX53 fitting accepts standard low-profile LED bulbs typically ranging from 7W to 11W and 3000K to 4000K colour temperature. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific bulb chosen and the type of dimmer in use. Ideal Lux backs the Lumira with a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects in the aluminium housing and electrical components.

Frequently Asked
What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?
IP44 indicates the bollard is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and water splashing from any direction. This makes it suitable for UK garden pathways, patios and poolside areas, but it should not be submerged or subjected to high-pressure water jets during cleaning.
What bulb does it take and is it included?
The Lumira takes a single GX53 bulb (not included). GX53 is a low-profile LED disc format commonly used in kitchen and outdoor lighting. Most GX53 LED bulbs range from 7W to 11W and are available in warm white (3000K) or neutral white (4000K).
Is it dimmable?
The bollard itself is dimmable, but actual dimming performance depends on the GX53 bulb you install and the type of dimmer in your circuit. Not all GX53 LED bulbs are dimmable, so check the bulb specification before pairing with a dimmer switch.
How is the bollard installed?
The anthracite base mounts to a standard 100mm circular ground box or paving-mounted base plate. Electrical connection is made inside the base via a cable gland. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with BS 7671 wiring regulations for outdoor lighting circuits.
