Description

The Luminis is a 60cm outdoor bollard light with a cylindrical white die-cast aluminium body, a clear Pyrex glass top section and internal aluminium reflectors. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb (sold separately) and carries an IP65 rating, making it weatherproof against rain, snow and dust ingress for year-round outdoor installation.

Designed for pathways, driveways, garden borders and patio edges, the 60cm height positions the light source at knee-to-mid-thigh level on most adults, casting illumination across a 2-3m radius depending on bulb choice. The Pyrex diffuser spreads light horizontally through its louvred internal structure while the aluminium body directs light downwards, reducing glare and light pollution above the fixture. The bollard mounts to a fixed base via four bolts, suitable for concrete pads, paving slabs or flush-set into gravel.

The white powder-coated aluminium finish resists UV degradation and corrosion in coastal or high-humidity environments. The 155mm diameter body provides stability in exposed positions without dominating narrow pathways. Dimmer compatibility depends on the E27 bulb fitted — pair with a dimmable LED for adjustable output from dusk to late evening. What does the IP65 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP65 means the bollard is fully dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for permanent outdoor installation in all UK weather conditions including heavy rain, snow and coastal spray.

What bulb is recommended?

The Luminis takes a standard E27 bulb up to 60W. Most installations use a 7-12W warm white LED (2700K-3000K) for pathway lighting, or a cool white LED (4000K) where higher visibility is needed on driveways.

How is it mounted?

The bollard fixes to a prepared base via four bolts through the circular foot plate. The base can be set into concrete, fixed to a paving slab, or bolted to a metal plate flush-set into gravel or decking.

Is the bollard dimmable?

Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb fitted. Pair the Luminis with a dimmable E27 LED and a compatible outdoor dimmer switch to adjust output. Non-dimmable bulbs will run at full brightness only.
