Description
The Luminis is an 80cm outdoor bollard light built from die-cast aluminium with an anthracite powder-coated finish and a Pyrex glass diffuser. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) inside the bollard casts light downward and outward through the glass, illuminating pathways, driveway edges, garden borders and patio perimeters.
Designed for year-round outdoor use, the bollard carries an IP65 rating protecting the internal components from dust ingress and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for UK weather conditions including heavy rain and frost. The 80cm height positions the light source above typical ground-level plantings and provides enough spread to illuminate a 2-3m radius on pathways without causing glare at eye level for standing adults.
The die-cast aluminium construction gives the bollard structural rigidity and corrosion resistance, while the anthracite finish — a dark grey tone — integrates into both traditional and contemporary garden schemes without dominating the visual line. The Pyrex glass diffuser resists thermal shock from rapid temperature changes and softens the direct output of the bulb. The bollard sits on a circular base plate requiring ground fixing via screws or bolts through pre-drilled apertures.
Manufactured in Italy by Ideal Lux, the Luminis bollard carries a 5-year warranty covering manufacturing defects. The E27 fitting accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to the maximum wattage stated in the Specification table, giving flexibility to choose the light temperature and output that suits the installation.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does the Luminis take?
The bollard takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED between 6-12W and 2700K-3000K for path lighting. Check the Specification table for the maximum wattage rating.
Is the Luminis dimmable?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb used and the specific dimmer model. When paired with a dimmable LED bulb and a compatible LED dimmer, the bollard can be dimmed. Non-dimmable bulbs or incompatible dimmers will not provide dimming functionality.
How is the bollard installed?
The bollard sits on a circular base plate with pre-drilled apertures for ground fixing. Installation requires screws or bolts fixed into a concrete base, paving slab or similar stable surface. Electrical connection must be made by a qualified electrician in accordance with UK wiring regulations.
What does IP65 mean?
IP65 confirms the bollard is dust-tight (the '6') and protected against water jets from any direction (the '5'). This makes it suitable for outdoor use in UK weather conditions including heavy rain, but it is not rated for submersion or direct water pressure washing.
