Description
The Lucidra is a 30cm diameter spherical pedestal light with an opal white plastic diffuser, an aluminium base, and an IP44 rating for outdoor installation. A single E27 bulb inside the globe casts diffused light in all directions through the translucent plastic, providing ambient illumination without direct glare.
Designed for garden paths, patio edges, alongside outdoor seating areas, and next to water features, the Lucidra sits on the ground or a low plinth. The IP44 rating protects against splashing water and solid objects larger than 1mm, making it suitable for most UK outdoor environments including patios, front gardens and courtyard terraces exposed to rain. The 2.8m cable length allows positioning up to that distance from the nearest outdoor socket or junction box.
The opal plastic diffuser is UV-resistant and remains opaque white under direct sunlight without yellowing over typical use periods. The aluminium base adds weight to prevent the light being knocked over by wind or accidental contact, and the white finish pairs with modern, minimalist and coastal-style outdoor furniture. The E27 fitting accepts LED, halogen or filament bulbs up to the maximum wattage stated in the lamp holder (bulb sold separately), and dimmable bulbs can be paired with a compatible outdoor dimmer if variable brightness is needed.

Frequently Asked
Is the Lucidra suitable for year-round outdoor use?
Yes. The IP44 rating protects against splashing water from any direction and solid objects larger than 1mm. This covers UK rain, garden hose spray and typical outdoor debris, but the light should not be submerged or placed where standing water collects.
What bulb does it take?
The lamp takes one E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for ambient outdoor lighting. Check the lamp holder for the maximum wattage rating.
Can it be dimmed?
Yes, if paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible outdoor dimmer switch. The lamp itself supports dimming, but both the bulb and the electrical circuit must be dimmer-compatible.
How is the cable managed outdoors?
The 2.8m PVC cable can be run across the ground to the nearest outdoor socket, buried in conduit under soil or paving, or clipped along a wall or fence. Ensure any outdoor electrical installation complies with UK wiring regulations and uses appropriate weatherproof connectors.
