Description

The Lucia is a 460mm drum chandelier from Feiss, built around a burnished silver metal frame filled with sunflower-shaped Bauhinia crystals that sit between an outer linen shade and an inner frosted glass diffuser. Three E27 bulb fittings (bulbs sold separately) sit behind the glass diffuser, which spreads light evenly through the drum while the crystals catch and refract it outwards through the linen.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher, the Lucia hangs on an adjustable chain with a minimum drop of 360mm and a maximum drop of 1410mm. The burnished silver finish on the metal frame sits between polished and antique, giving a soft metallic tone that pairs with both warm and cool interior palettes. The linen shade softens the light output and hides the bulbs from direct view when the chandelier is positioned at or above eye level.

The Bauhinia crystals are arranged in a repeating pattern around the drum, creating geometric openings that allow light to escape while maintaining the chandelier's weight and presence. The combined linen, crystal and metal construction gives the fitting substance without overwhelming smaller dining tables or hallway spaces. The glass bottom diffuser prevents glare when the chandelier is viewed from below and directs some light downwards onto the surface beneath.

What ceiling height is needed?

The adjustable drop allows the chandelier to hang between 360mm and 1410mm below the ceiling rose. For dining tables the fitting typically sits 750-850mm above the surface, which works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above.

Can the drop be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable during installation by shortening the chain. Once fitted and the chain concealed, further adjustment requires removing the canopy and re-threading the chain.

How is the linen shade cleaned?

The linen shade can be dusted with a soft dry cloth or vacuum brush attachment on low power. For marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the fabric. The crystals can be wiped individually with a lint-free microfibre cloth.
