The Louise is an oval organza lampshade in white, measuring 54/60cm at its widest points and standing 26cm tall. The shade is constructed from pleated white organza fabric stretched over an oval wire frame, creating a tapered form that narrows at the top and bottom fittings. Designed as a replacement or upgrade shade for the Louise floor lamp range, the shade fits standard European duplex fittings with a centre rod. The oval footprint suits side-table positions and floor lamps placed beside sofas or in reading corners where a directional light source is needed without excessive glare. What lamp bases is this shade compatible with?

The Louise shade fits standard European duplex fittings with a centre rod, as used on the Louise floor lamp range. It will not fit traditional UK bayonet or screw-thread shade carriers found on older table lamps.

Does the shade arrive pre-assembled?

The shade ships flat-packed to prevent transit damage. On unpacking, gently shape the oval frame back to its intended form by easing the top and bottom rings into position. The pleated fabric will naturally restore its vertical alignment once the frame is correctly shaped.

How is the organza cleaned?

Dust the shade periodically with a soft-bristled brush or a microfibre cloth on a low-suction vacuum attachment. Do not wet-clean organza, as water marks and fabric distortion may result. For stubborn marks, spot-clean gently with a barely-damp cloth and allow to air-dry fully before switching the lamp back on.

Can this shade be used with LED bulbs?

Yes. The organza fabric tolerates heat from LED, halogen and low-wattage incandescent bulbs. Ensure the bulb does not exceed the maximum wattage rating of the lamp base it is fitted to, and avoid positioning the bulb closer than 50mm to the fabric to prevent localised heat stress.
