Lori Single E27 Pendant Light Smoke - Polished Chrome

A single pendant on a polished chrome suspension, hung with a smoke-tinted wine shade that draws in at the neck and opens out towards the mouth. At 12cm across it is a small fitting, and the light it gives is close and directional rather than broad. The drop adjusts over a generous span, so it can hang low over a worktop or be pulled up short beneath a lower ceiling. It takes one E27 lamp of up to 20W, and dims with a compatible lamp and dimmer.

Small pendants like this earn their place where a wide shade would crowd the room: over a kitchen island in a run, above a breakfast bar, either side of a bed, or in a stairwell where the ceiling is high and the fitting needs to come down to meet you. The metalwork is finished in polished chrome, bright and reflective, and the shade carries a smoke tint that softens the light. Dust it with a dry duster, and lift fingermarks from the chrome with a barely damp cloth, working with the polish rather than across it, once the lamp has gone cold. It carries a one year warranty. How far down does it hang?

The drop is adjustable from 270mm at its shortest to 1770mm at full extension, so it works over a low table or from a tall ceiling.

Which lamp should I choose?

It takes a single E27 lamp rated up to 20W. An LED is the sensible choice, and it is worth picking a shape that sits well within the shade, as the smoke tint leaves the lamp partly visible.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you use a dimmable lamp and a matching dimmer. Neither is supplied with the pendant.

How big is the shade, and is the fitting heavy?

The shade is 120mm in diameter and the whole pendant weighs 0.91kg, so it is a light, compact fitting.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated for dry interior rooms only, so choose a kitchen, hallway, bedroom or living space instead.
