Description

A small round flush fitting for rooms where a hanging light would be in the way, with a slim curved trapezium shade in chrome sitting above a polished chrome ceiling plate 15cm across. The curve softens the outline, so it reads as a rounded shoulder rather than a flat disc, and the mirrored surfaces catch daylight and lamplight from across the room. It takes an E27 lamp of up to 20W, and with a suitable lamp and dimmer the output can be brought down.

We reach for this one in hallways, on landings, and in box rooms or study corners where a pendant would hang too low to walk under. The narrow plate keeps it quiet on a plain ceiling, and a run of them along a long corridor works better than a large fitting in the middle. It suits anyone after chrome to match existing switch plates or chrome kitchen fittings. The small size makes it easy to place above a stairwell turn or just inside a doorway. Keep it to dry indoor rooms, away from steam and splashes.

The plate is polished chrome and the shade matches it in chrome, so the fitting reads as one piece of bright metal. Polished chrome shows fingermarks and dust more than a matt finish, so a dry microfibre cloth now and again, over a cooled lamp, keeps the reflection even; leave polishes and creams out of it. It carries a one year warranty. The same chrome body appears in the range with amber and clear glass trapezium shades, and with open mouth round globe shades in chrome or iridescent glass, if you want the light diffused rather than reflected.
