Lori 3 Light Flush Ceiling Light 40cm Chrome - Polished Chrome

A shallow round plate holds three slim curved trapezium shades, tapering and set close together over a 40cm span. The fitting sits tight to the ceiling, so it reads as a tidy cluster rather than something hung on a rod. There is very little depth to it beyond the shades themselves. Polished chrome on the plate and chrome on the shades gives a bright, reflective surface throughout, and the shades stay slim enough that the plate is never crowded. Each shade takes an E27 lamp.

This is one we reach for in a hall, on a landing or in a bedroom where a pendant would hang too low, and it works just as well over a kitchen table or a small dining area. The lamps spread light further across a ceiling than a single flush fitting manages, which matters in a room with no other source. It will dim, given lamps made for dimming and a compatible dimmer on the circuit; both are bought separately. Keep it to rooms that stay dry, so a bathroom or a covered porch wants something rated for that instead.

Plate and shades share the same polished tone, which keeps the fitting reading as one piece rather than a frame with parts added on. A dry microfibre cloth is all the chrome asks for; fingermarks lift with a little glass cleaner put on the cloth rather than sprayed at the fitting, and nothing gritty should go near the plating. How wide is it and how far does it come down from the ceiling?

The round plate measures 400mm in diameter and the fitting stands 90mm deep, so it stays well clear of head height.

What lamps does it take?

Three E27 lamps, each up to 20W. An LED lamp is the sensible choice here, with the shape picked to suit the shade. Lamps are supplied separately.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and a dimmer matched to them. No dimmer is supplied with the fitting.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which covers dry rooms only. For a bathroom you need a fitting with a moisture rating appropriate to the zone.

How do I keep the chrome looking right?

Switch off and let everything cool, then wipe with a dry soft cloth. For smears, dampen the cloth with a mild glass cleaner rather than spraying the fitting, and avoid scouring pads or cream cleaners.
