Description
Three opal glass globes sit grouped across a shallow satin nickel plate, each one open at the mouth so light drops down as well as glowing through the glass. The plate measures 40cm across and holds close to the ceiling, so the fitting reads as a broad disc rather than anything hanging. Every globe takes an E27 lamp, and we would fit warm white LEDs to keep the opal soft.
It suits rooms where headroom is short and a pendant would only be in the way: hallways and landings, a bedroom, a kitchen with a low ceiling. Spreading the light across several globes covers a wider area than a single central lamp manages, which helps in a long hall or at the top of the stairs. Anyone after the presence of grouped glass without losing height above the floor will get on with it, and the shallow plate keeps the whole thing well clear of a doorway swing. It will dim as well, given a suitable lamp and a matching dimmer, though neither comes with it.
The metalwork is finished in satin nickel, a soft grey sheen that stays quieter than chrome and sits happily with brushed steel kitchen fittings or pale paintwork. Opal glass picks up fingerprints, so once everything has cooled, take the dust off with a dry cloth and go over any marks with a cloth barely damp, drying as you go. It belongs in dry rooms indoors, running off the household mains, and it carries a one year warranty. We stock the smaller single-light Lori too, in antique gold and polished chrome, with globes in green, smoke, opal and iridescent glass, so a hall and a landing can be matched without repeating the same size. Lamps are not included.

Frequently Asked
Which lamps does it take, and are they supplied?
It takes three E27 lamps, rated up to 20W each, and they are not supplied. LED is the sensible choice here; pick a shape that suits an open-mouthed globe shade.
Can it be dimmed?
Yes, provided you use dimmable lamps and a dimmer matched to them. No dimmer is included with the fitting.
How wide is it and how far does it come down from the ceiling?
The round plate is 400mm in diameter and the fitting projects 90mm, so it stays tight to the ceiling.
How should the opal glass be cleaned?
Switch off at the wall and let the glass cool first. Dust with a dry cloth, then lift fingerprints with a cloth wrung out in warm water and dry immediately. Avoid abrasive creams and solvent sprays.
Is it suitable for a bathroom or a covered porch?
No. It is rated IP20, which makes it a fitting for dry interior rooms rather than damp or exposed positions.
What warranty does it come with?
It carries a one year manufacturer's warranty.
