Description
Three opal shades sit beneath a shallow round plate finished in polished chrome, each one shaped to the profile of a wine glass with the bowl turned downward. The plate spans 40cm and gathers the shades into a close cluster, so the fitting reads as a whole rather than as a row of lights. The opal diffuses what passes through it, giving a soft wash across the ceiling line instead of glare. Each shade takes its own E27 lamp of up to 20W, and the fitting will dim where suitable lamps are matched to a compatible dimmer.
Because it holds so tight to the ceiling, it works in rooms where headroom is short: a landing, a hallway, a bedroom under a low ceiling, or the back end of a kitchen. Having a lamp in every shade gives it more output than many flush fittings of this width, so it can carry a small sitting room or a study on its own. We would put warm white LED lamps in this one and choose neat envelopes, since the outline of the lamp shows faintly through the opal. It belongs indoors, in dry rooms rather than anywhere exposed to steam or splashing.
Polished chrome gives the plate a mirror brightness that plays off the opal hanging below it. To clean, switch off at the wall and dust with a soft dry cloth; a barely damp cloth will lift marks from the shades, while abrasive creams are best kept well away from the chrome. It carries a one year warranty. The Lori range runs wider than this fitting, with the same wine shade offered in antique gold and an amber shade offered on chrome, plus smaller flush fittings for tighter spaces. Lamps are not included.

Frequently Asked
How far does it hang below the ceiling?
The body is only 90mm deep, so it sits close to the ceiling and suits rooms with limited headroom.
What lamps should I use?
It takes three E27 lamps rated up to 20W each. LED lamps are the sensible choice, and a compact envelope looks tidiest behind the opal shades.
Can it be dimmed?
Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and pair them with a dimmer suited to those lamps. No dimmer is supplied with the fitting.
How wide is it on the ceiling?
The round plate measures 400mm across, which places it in our medium size band for flush fittings.
How should I look after the chrome?
Dust it with a soft dry cloth and use only a lightly damp cloth for fingermarks. Polishes and cream cleaners will dull a polished chrome surface over time.
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20 and should be kept to dry rooms such as bedrooms, hallways and living spaces.
