Description

The Libra Rustica is a 10x10cm pillar candle cast from 100% paraffin wax in a textured dark grey finish, banded with a narrow steel wrap around the lower third. The rustic surface texture breaks up the wax body with an uneven, stone-like appearance that contrasts with the smooth metallic band.

Designed for use on dining tables, mantels, console tables and side units where a low-profile ambient light source is needed, the 10cm height and 10cm diameter give the candle a stable footprint without tipping on flat surfaces. The pillar format burns down from the centre, forming a wax well around the wick while leaving the outer shell and steel band intact through most of the burn cycle. Burn time depends on wick trimming and airflow but typically reaches 40-50 hours.

Manufactured in Europe using traditional casting methods, the candle meets EU safety and quality standards. The wick is designed to produce a clean flame with minimal smoke or soot when burned in still air away from draughts. The dark grey tone pairs with industrial, minimalist and monochrome interiors, and the rustic texture softens what would otherwise read as a block of solid colour.

Frequently Asked

How long does the candle burn?

Burn time is approximately 40-50 hours depending on wick trimming and airflow. The pillar format burns down from the centre, leaving the outer wax shell and steel band intact until the final stages of the burn.

Does the steel band come off before burning?

No. The steel band remains on the candle throughout the burn and acts as both a decorative accent and a structural support for the outer wax shell as the centre burns down.

Is the candle scented?

No. The Rustica pillar is unscented 100% paraffin wax, designed to provide ambient light without adding fragrance to the room.

How is the wick trimmed?

Before each lighting, trim the wick to approximately 5-6mm. After extinguishing, allow the wax to cool and solidify before re-trimming for the next burn. Trimming reduces smoke and keeps the flame clear and stable.
