Description
This is an LED GLS bulb in the classic pear shape that most lamps and pendants are made to take. It has a smooth opal white dome over a white body and a silver E27 screw cap, the larger screw fitting used by many ceiling pendants, table lamps and floor lamps. It gives a cool white light of 1,055lm while drawing just 11W, so one bulb puts out a generous amount of light for very little power. It is rated Energy Class F.
Cool white light suits the rooms where you want to see clearly: a kitchen, a study, a hallway or a utility room, anywhere you cook, read or work and would rather have crisp, bright light than a warm glow. It is a good choice for an open pendant or a bare holder too, since the opal dome gives an even glow rather than a row of bright points. With 1,055lm from one bulb, a single fitting goes a long way, which makes it a sensible swap for a tired bulb that leaves a room feeling dim.
LED technology turns far more of its power into light than an old filament bulb, and the bulb stays much cooler to the touch while it is lit. For care, switch the lamp off and let the bulb cool before you change it, and wipe the dome with a soft, dry cloth whenever dust gathers. Before you order, we suggest checking that your lampholder takes a screw cap rather than a bayonet one, as an E27 bulb will only fit an E27 holder. Keep a spare in the drawer and the next change takes seconds.
