Description

The Larncombe large pendant hangs a 500mm multicoloured Tiffany-style leaded glass shade from a metal fitting, with a drop that adjusts between 520mm and 1360mm. Three 60W E27 GLS bulbs light it, which is what gives a shade this wide an even glow rather than a bright centre, and bulbs are supplied separately. The panels are cut and leaded individually, so the colour lives in the glass and the pattern reads unlit as well as lit. It weighs 3.2kg and is a Class 1 fitting, wired with an earth.

At 500mm across with three bulbs, this is a main ceiling light rather than an accent. It suits a dining table, a wide hall, a kitchen island or a sitting room that needs one strong source overhead. Over a dining surface, hang it around 750mm to 900mm above the table so the glass sits in view and the light spreads across the top. The long adjustment range covers standard and taller ceilings, and the three-bulb output means you can run it low in the evening and still see the pattern.

The shade is leaded glass in a metal frame with matching suspension, and the flex can be set to length at installation. Dust it with a dry soft cloth, use a barely damp cloth for marks, and dry the lead lines afterwards. Avoid solvents, ammonia-based sprays and abrasive creams. It is rated IP20, so keep it to dry indoor rooms. With dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer the level can be dropped right down.
