Description

The Larkbury semi flush sets a 480mm width of Tiffany-style leaded glass just 315mm below the ceiling, which is what makes it usable in rooms where a hanging pendant would be too much. Three E27 lampholders sit inside the shade, each taking an LED bulb of up to 10W, so the fitting spreads light widely rather than dropping it in one column. It weighs 2.5kg and bulbs are not included, so you can match the warmth of the light to the rest of the room.

A semi flush of this width is at home in a hallway, a landing, a bedroom or a sitting room with a modest ceiling height. It gives you the colour and pattern of leaded glass at head height clearance, which matters in cottages, dormer bedrooms and loft conversions where a flush mount is often the only sensible choice. The multicoloured glass sits naturally against period features and softens a plain modern room without competing with it. The IP20 rating keeps it to dry indoor rooms.

Small pieces of coloured glass are set into soldered metal seams and carried on a metal frame, so the panels catch daylight differently through the day and warm considerably once the bulbs are on. Dust with a dry soft cloth, lift marks with a barely damp cloth and dry at once, and keep sprays and abrasive creams away from the seams and the metalwork. It is Class 1 and needs an earthed supply, and it dims with a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulbs.
